Bacon is Good For You

So this post’s title is kind of a lie- bacon isn’t really great for you and honestly, I’m not it’s number one fan. People go ape for bacon, but I’m not necessarily one of them. It does have its place on the Sunday breakfast table or in a wonderfully summery BLT. It’s one of those sandwiches that you don’t exactly have to follow the whole BLT, just bacon lettuce tomato thing. Use it as your base and then go from there. Some toppings that I love:

Spreads:

  • Mayo
  • Cream Cheese
  • Mustard (Yellow or Deli)
Veggies:
  • Bean Sprouts
  • Avocado
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Cucumber

On…

  • Challah Bread (a buttery Jewish Egg Bread)
  • Italian with sesame seeds
  • Sourdough

Don’t forget the bacon!

Sandwiches are an art, building them and creating your own thing out of them. I don’t put all of these toppings on it all at once, but I tried a couple of these combos and they were super delish. Easy, fun and just right for someone who is getting over being awfully sick the past week. I didn’t want to put too much energy into it because I didn’t really have any, so making these sandwiches was a perfect solution. Plus, I still had some of that leftover tomato from this post! Yumm!

Tell me what you put on your summer sandwiches in the comments below!
