Warmth in the Summery Cold

Usually Tallahassee is super duper hot and humid for the first month or so back to school. The weather will start to turn in October or so, but until then everybody smells in class because you can’t get out of your car without sweating through your clothes. Enough of that image, but today was a glorious day. A recent tropical storm blew in a cold front today and it is currently 65 degrees outside. In September. In Florida! What!

So, obviously the weather called for warm drinks and soup. We went off to Crispers and I had a really great Tomato Bisque and then gave Ariane the puppy eyes so she might make me a Green Tea Latte! It was wonderful. It was my first Green Tea Latte, and I wasn’t sure how I liked it at first. It’s very earthy and green and a little grass-y, but the taste really grew on me and before I knew it, I reached the bottom! See the recipe below for deliciousness!

Ariane’s Green Tea Latte

  • 1 tbs Green Tea Powder
  • 2 tbs Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Hot Water
  • 1/4 cup (or so) Milk
  1. Mix one tablespoon green tea powder and two tablespoons of sugar together in a mug
  2. Then pour in half a cup of hot water
  3. Whisk the tea together to work out the clumps and dissolve the sugar
  4. Once it’s smoothly blended, fill the cup the rest of the way with steamed milk
  5. If you dont have a milk steamer, you can just microwave the latte to get it hot enough.
Yay for weather that calls for warm drinks! What is your favorite? Write them in the comments below!
