DIY ‘n’ Stuff: Homemade Pizza Rolls

Funny story: It started in a Circle K last year with my friends and I on the search for snacks. Twas’ a late Saturday night, close to the midnight hour, and, of course, we were being foolish. Three girls, dressed in Powerpuff Girl outfits, were running around the store. One of them shouts to the others, “Get whatever you want, don’t worry, I have pizza rolls! We can go back to my house and make pizza rolls. Get whatever you want, I have pizza rolls!”

Needless to say, “IT’S OKAY, I HAVE PIZZA ROLLS” is now a running joke in my circle of friends.

I’m not a huge fan of the snack, but it is fun for parties and get-togethers. In order to avoid the whole $9.00 a bag thing, I looked into a couple of alternatives- making your own! Check out this easy recipe to avoid any ridiculous situations in Circle K stores 😉

Easy Peasy Homemade Pizza Rolls

  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup pepperoni, diced (optional)
  • 20 wonton wrappers (in the produce section!)
  • A small dish of water
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Lay out eight wonton wrappers on the baking sheet (keep in mind that they will be folded over)
  3. In a small bowl, mix together pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni (if desired)
  4. Dollop a small amount (about 2 teaspoons) of the sauce mixture onto one side of the wonton.
  5. Dip your finger into the water and trace the border of the wonton wrapper (this will help it stick)
  6. Fold over the wonton and press
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes and enjoy! (These aren’t as good cold as when they come out of the oven but no worries- pizza rolls don’t stick around too long!)
